*Boozy Fridays presents “The Last Word” cocktail*
Credits of “The last word” cocktail is to Frank Fogarty, the most popular entertainer in vaudeville in 1912, the time of pre-prohibition.
Frank’s secret of success is his ambition to achieve in any gang the brevity. Is the man who said “You can kill the whole point of a gag by merely (using one) unnecessary word”. (Gaz Regan (2009), “The Bartender’s Gin compendium“)
The original “The Last Word” formula:
– 22,5 ml Dry gin
– 22,5 ml Maraschino liqueur
– 22,5 ml Green Chartreuse
– 22,5 ml Fresh lime juice
Shake over ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass
The Bar Institute variation“Before the Last Word”:
– 22,5 ml Diplomatico Blanco reserve
– 22,5 ml Maraschino Liqueur
– 22,5 ml Green Chartreuse
– 22,5 ml Fresh lime juice
