Hemingway Daiquiri @ TBI Boozy Fridays vol.3

**BoOzy Fridays presents HEMINGWAY DAIQURI**

In the early 1930’s, the famous writer, Ernest Hemingway frequented in the Historic Bar “El Floridita”, Havana, Cuba , when he needed to use the bathroom. He saw the head Bartender Costante Ribalaigua mixing daiquiries and wished to try one. He thought it was too sweet for him to drink and asked the bartender to double the rum and take out the sugar syrup. Consequently , the original Papa Doble, was a mix of rum and lime juice. It is said that Hemingway could drink almost 16 of that strong cocktail per day!!! Later on , bartender Antonio Meilan added grapefruit juice and maraschino liqueur.

The Papa Doble formula is:

-100 ml White Rum

-50 ml Fresh Lime Juice

-25 ml Fresh Grapefruit Juice

-15 ml Maraschino liqueur Blend with crushed ice in pour in a large goblet

Methood: Shaking with crushed ice

Glass: Large goblet

The Hemingway Daiquiri Formula:

-50ml Rum Blanco or Yellow

-10 ml Maraschino liqueur

-20 ml Fresh Lime Juice

-15 ml Fresh Grapefruit Juice Shake ,

Method: Shaking

Glass: Cocktail glass

Garnish: Llime wedge
